How this DASH diet food list works
This DASH diet food list filters a fixed set of foods by food-group placement, serving target and sodium preference. It is a reference for comparing foods in the DASH dietary context, not a diagnosis or individualized nutrition plan.
Sodium values come from USDA FoodData Central and are reported per 100 g. Where the source provides a typical serving weight, the list also shows that serving context and uses it for the low-sodium filter; otherwise it keeps the per-100 g reference visible.
A single food value does not describe your whole diet or health. A clinician or registered dietitian can help interpret nutrition needs for your situation.
Serving sodium (mg) = sodium per 100 g × serving grams ÷ 100 The low-sodium preference uses the US label threshold of 140 mg or less per serving from the source. A single reading is not a diagnosis; a clinician decides.
DASH diet food list FAQ
What does this DASH diet food list show?
It shows foods grouped into the fixed food categories represented in the source, plus a serving context and sodium value for comparison.
What does the low-sodium filter mean?
It keeps foods at or below 140 mg sodium per listed serving when the source provides a serving weight. Foods without a listed serving are not included in that filter.
Why do some foods say per 100 g reference?
The source supplies values per 100 g but only supplies serving weights for certain foods. The tool does not estimate missing serving sizes.
Does this list create a DASH meal plan?
No. It is a searchable food reference, not individualized medical or dietary advice. A clinician or registered dietitian can help tailor choices to your needs.
Are my entries saved?
No. Filtering runs in your browser, with no accounts or network calls.
